Hi Tim.
I went to have a look at that van earlier this year. Was it you who was selling it, or have you only just bought it....?
We loved it so much we decided to import one ourselves....
Regards
Simon

I am located in Cambridgeshire.
We took the drive up to Hull, with the money to buy it, but when we got there we decided to keep looking.
The main thing that put me off was the bodywork. Being in this country for so long obviously means it will have some rust, but we wanted something that didn't need a lot of work to get it mint...
Its a very nice van though, it seemed to drive nicely, and had been well used, so should be fairly reliable...
As soon as we got home we started looking in the USA, and eventually found the one i bought.
Where are you...?

Ha NO! the cows are going!
oddly enough under the cow covers the seats are immaculate, and they are a lovely blue colour so the door cards and ceiling will be done in a similar blue, probably two tone with white aswell.
it'll be getting a full camping interior and eventually a respray, probably the same blue with white, i dunno yet on the exterior yet.
Where in cambs are you? I'm in north herts near hitchin! When are you going to be on the road?

I'm in Chatteris, which is about as far north in Cambridgeshire as you can get....!!!
Still, Hitchin isn't that far away at all...
I have loads of work to do on mine, it needs a full rewire for starters, as well as a handbrake and some other bits and pieces. As soon as that is done it will be put on the road, and then turned into a proper camper later on....
Is yours on the road now...?
Whats it like to drive...?

oh wow, really not far at all then! the company i used to work for moved to alconbury so i was up there for a few years!
Yeah mines running on the road thats one of the reasons i decided to go with one that was already imported! the only major thing i need to do soon is i want to do the disc conversion! i dislike drums, especially in an auto.
we should definitely meet up sometime, it would be awesome to know another UK eco owner! if i'm not working on the 25th i'm gonna goto the all american cruise at the ace cafe! interested?

I might be able to make it on the 25th. Never been to the Ace.
I will be getting the disc brake conversion as well. I have already emailed the bloke who sells them before i even got the van. Disc brakes are much less hassle as well as stopping better.
There are a couple of other sites i have found since buying this van that might be useful to you:
These guys know all there is to know about straight 6 engines

Also, this os one i have just found out about:

well, luckily USAautomotive in bedford stock most of the engine parts you could want! Plus johnwoolfe racing can tune/fix most yank vehicles
Have you ordered your discs already? We might save on shipping if we go together as it's damn expensive to post em!

Cool, ask them about proportioning valves and residual valves as well, as he said i needed them for mine. You might need them too. They don't come with the kit, but he can supply them to us....
