Post subject:  Pickup vin plate id

I have admired these pickups ever since I rode in my grandfather's. I am now in the process of acquiring one and wanted to find out if someone could decode the vin plate for me. The parts of it that I have not figured out are: Serial number = E10SH122646; Color code = JM Transaxle = A 01.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks,

Don

E10 = E100 // S = 144 1V I-6 // H = Lorain OH Assembly Plant // 122646 = 1961, Assembled in December 1960.

JM: J = Rangoon Red / M = Colonial White // AO1 Uh...no such thing. You combined the TRANS and AXLE codes. One follows t'other on the Warranty Plate.

There's supposed to be a space between them, but the clucks on the assembly line sometimes stamped the two codes together.

TRANS A = Ford Light Duty 3 Speed Manual (non syncro 1st gear).

AXLE 01 = Ford WCC Rear Axle / 3.50-1 / non Limited Slip / 2900 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity.

Don, I had help with this..... i can not take credit for the info But belive me it is right!

Good luck with your project!

Bill,

Thanks a lot for the info.

Are you talking about Washington state? I had a distant cousin, Ron Wilson living there, although he passed away a couple of years ago.

Thanks again,

Bill,

Where do you get the information on this? Is there a manual somewhere that you can buy?

Thanks again,

Hi Don, I asked the other Bill Wilson on ford-trucks.com FTE, he goes by the handle of Numberdummy on the site. But belive me he is NO dummy! he is a ford historian/parts number guy, he know everything!

the reason i asked about the towns in oklahoma is because my grandfather( Lonnie wilson sr) lived there in the 30's 40's and 50's, my dad (lonnie wilson jr) was born in redland Ok in 37

My cousin April married Big country(bryant reeves) the basketball guy in Gans. family reunion's are great! lol

Ha ha! I didn't recognize those town names from Oklahoma. Have only lived here about a year and a half. No, no relatives here.

Thanks again,
