Post subject:  1961 Econoline Old Skool

Hello all I am new here so if I do something wrong let me know. I just purchased my newest project at an estate auction. It is a 1961 Econoline Pickup. (I guess it is a 61 from the date on the park lamps and the tail light lens. I have plans to make it look like the Black hot rod 65 model Old Skool one.(I will post pictures as soon as I learn how.) I have a donor 95 F-150 for the engine and trans.

Here are the numbers I got off the door if anyone can help me out with what they mean.
Warranty #: E10TH478982
Trans: A
Axle : 02
Body : 587
Color : J<-----I know this is some color red but I am not sure what color.
Model : E103
CERT: 85
In the center of the steering wheel: S-22
Thanks for any help you can give.

:( Yea, not to many people post to this site, it is a shame too! because it is set up nice. Did you find VintAGE-Vans.com? Marks econoline Page?

Try them if you get a chance.

If you are looking for an active Econo group, visit yahoo groups there are several there. The two that are active is oldeconolines and econosrus. Going by the VIN posted it should be a 64. Register with one of those groups (or both) and you cn get the month if needed.

Hey- for 1961 only, color code J is Monte Carlo Red and it is different than Rangoon Red that was used fron 1962-1979 or so. Terry @ Econoline Connection

Terry Turner?????? What the heck? Where you been hiding out? I was wondering about you the other day. Are you coming back to the Econoline world? Good to see you are still out there.
