I bought a Econoline Pickup and nedd the vin decoded.
The vin # is E10FH835969

E10 = E100 Pickup, Body Code 87A = Std pickup or 87B = Dlx. pickup
F = 170 ci engine
H = Lorain Assembly Plant
835969 = March of 1966 Build Date

All info id from the 66 manual, hope this helps

ecenoaddict, thank you for the vin info. I picked up two pickups for a thousand bucks. There is enough to make one good one. I have two Corvair coups and wanted a rampside but I couldn't pass these up . I guess theis makes me a Ford/ Chevy guy. I will post some pics later.

I have been doing quite a bit of work to the pickup. Here is a list.

!. removed gas tank and fixed many holes that were on the top - reinstalled
2. removed rear end and springs and painted same-reinstalled
3. removed front axle and springs.
4. in process of installing new king pins
5. replaced master cyl
6. 4 new wheel clys
7. new brake lines and hoses
8. new clutch pedal pivot bushing
9. removed dog house , sides , front and back so that I can repair rusty floor
10. painted frame rails ( found out that they have a galvinised coating ) ( lots of undercoating on the bottom of truck )
11. cleaned and painted cover that is below foot area

Will be taking engine out to detail
