Post subject:  240 six cylinder

Is the 240 six cylinder in the econoline 1966 pickup the same block/motor as the 300 six cylinder? Does anyone know if this has the separate intake manifold or is it a single casting like the 200/250 head?

Is the 240 the big six used during the run of trucks? Since the 1967 is the last year I guessing they never had the 250 or perhaps even the 300, I do not know when Ford began using the 300 six.

Thanks Jim

Yes the same motor exchange, direct bolt in!Yes seperate intake and exhaust manifold, plenty of aftermarket manifolds to choose from. If you are in need of a rebuild , go for the 300ci more dis. + they are a industrial design, beffy mains and lots of them make one good motor! :D 1965-1970 run on the 240's
