Did the pickup ever come four wheel and would it be difficult to change over to four wheel on the pickup?

I though perhaps it could be done either by acquiring a donor van or by calling someone like Currie Industries. How much of a nightmare would this be?

Are the Van and the Pickup chassis the same as well as the cabs?

Seems like it would be way cool. Any ideas?

Thanks Jim Reese

The only one I've ever seen was having the unibody dropped on an early Toyota chasis. Haven't seen it around in a few years so I can't look it up for some real specifics for you.

I believe Dennis here on site has a 4wd pickup. One I ve seen in person is Duke Spanglers 67 Econo van which I believe is in this sites photo section. Its blue and white and done 1st class as far as the converion goes. If memory serves me correct it was done with Jeep Cherokee axles and Bronco engine, tranny and transfer case. Duke hand fabbed some attaching brackets and such and did an excellent job. He resides in Wisconsin and has had his van at Don Renner's meet.

Hmmm...... Speaking of Dennis - haven't heard from him in a while. Could it be those attack dogs got him cornered in the Econo Lodge? I hear they can be pretty mean when not fed on time.

Dennis is doing well, the dogs keep him in line

He does have a 4x4 econo and if memory serves me correctly it has jeep axles & springs under it. V8, 3sp as well
