I am thinking about replacing my 170 engine with a slightly built 200 engine. I have read that this is an easy straight forward swap with the 3 speed transmission. I have a 64 econoline van with the factory 4 speed manual transmission.
So my question is: would the 200 bolt up to the 4 speed Dagenham transmission?

Thanks,
Frank

I have done a couple of those swaps and it was a straight forward bolt in.
How ever I think the later 200's may have had a different bellhousing bolt pattern, not sure on this as I haven't ran into it personally.

From what I have heard all 144 170 and 200 are all the same a straight forward swap it is when you get into the 250 and 240/300 is when you need a bell housing the same as a small block v8 and the 250 is like an inch wider and an inch and a half taller. You should have no problem.
