Post subject:  Anyone out there taken a Pickup down 4+ inches?

I am getting ready to design my front suspension...I like to take it slow at first and do A LOT of planning prior to actual cutting/welding.

So, has anyone gone really low? What approach did you use(front/rear)?What sort of problems did you run into while doing the actual work? What kind of handling issues did you encounter once it was on the road?

If you are of the opinion that lowered cars/trucks are inappropriate please don't bother telling me how lame I am for wanting a lowered truck, I already know. If lowering one of these trucks is truly a BAD idea I would like specific examples or poor results> God knows these trucks can never be expected to handle like a Miata, but just what kind of trouble am I a court'n?

ANY real hard facts that can help me determine if, how how much to lower my truck would be VERY appreciated.

THANK YOU.....SWIFTY (p.s. I swear if I don't get any input on this I gonna do it anyway...and post the WHOLE terrible thing!)

Post subject:  Cool!

I have a '65 with 13 inch wheels on it and I think mine is already low for a pickup but I would very interested in the problems and solutions involved with dropping one of these awesome trucks. Unfortunately all I have to offer is encouragement. I've never done this sort of thing,.... yet.[/b]
