The backside of my doghouse (1966) is not flat with the floor. It has a hump built into it. My parts truck, year unknown, is flat with the floor. What is the hump for ?

My truc k is coming along ok. I work on it 3-4 hrs a day. Lots of work, but I like doing the hard stuff.

That would be the doghouse for the big (240) engine.
The hump gives a little more clearance for the bellhousing, the 240 is longer than the small sixes.
I have had a few econos that were bones stock with small sixes yet still had the dog house with the hump.
I think the doghouse may be a bit taller as well, not 100% positive on this.

Yes Dean,it's taller also. All 65-67 models have the hump in the floor.
