Post subject:  rear end

New member.
I have a 1965 econo p/u and want to install a ford 9".
Is there a certain 9" that matches the 7.25 dimensions and is the least to modify to fit and lacks aggravation.
gears and driveshaft will not be a problem.
Thanks, Dennis Wagner

Are you sure it doesn't have one already? My 65 van is a heavy duty and it came stock with a 9" rear end. Not sure if the others came with an 8. The 9 has a removable cover that allows you to dump out the 'pumpkin' in one piece to switch in the gear cluster ratio you desire. I wouldn't think Ford would change the axle width within the same year for a different rear end, but don't quote me on that.
Good luck!
