I have a 61 truck. drivers side pretty beat up and passenger missing or maybe didn't come with one. I know Barnabas recommended seats from a Mazda Miata, looking into that. But what year would work so that I can expand my search more than just " 1961 seats "? Do the early 70's also fit?

I haven't had a set of the 70's seats to try.
The biggest issue is the width of the seats, ours were pretty narrow.

I used the buckets out of a 80 Bronco with good results.

I have seats from a 1999 Mustang in my 61. I had to drill some new holes in the floor since the seats mount a little narrower, but now I can put any seat made for a Mustang from 1994-2003 into my truck.

You might try seats from any of the older english sports cars, like a triumph TR4, TR6 or spitfire, any MG. They maybe a little hard to find, as these cars are now becoming more collectable. Suzuki Samurai had smaller framed seats, but most of them are worn out by the time they junk them. I used Dodge Neon seats in my Samurai, so they may fit as well. Good luck!!
