Ive got what i was told was a 1961 Ford Econoline. Ive got the shop manual for 61 and none of the model #'s match up. The model # is E113.
It was also an ambulance at one point, and has a sway bar up front. Im wondering what year it may be

If you give the whole #: E113XXXXXX I can tell you the year. I have all manuals 61-67.

In the 1961 Econoline shop manual, the vin # is shown as E10SH and then six numbers, depending on what month they were made.
E10 is the series designation. My vin # is E11SH and then six numbers. E11 is the series designation.
S stands for the 144ci Over head valve straight-six. The H stands for the plant which all Econolines have been made. Lorain, Ohio.

It sounds as though you may have a Falcon Station bus. Really need the last six to determine the year.

I sent you a PM With some info I found. Some late '61s had the E11 code. None of the books show it being used till '62. It was then officially the code for the Falcon. Indeed though some late '61s got the E11 code and some were Econolnes as well as Falcons. Your has the s engine code (144) as you stated. Some of the late '61's with the E11 code even had the T engine code (170) which wasn't officially available till '62 either.
Does your van have a DSO#?

District sales order #. If it had one it would be in the last spot on the data plate. Not all had them. In fact many didn't. Gov't and fleet orders commonly do. It would tell where your van was originaly shipped from Ford for delivery.
