Hi guys, newbie here. Just joined the site. I have what is supposed to be a 1966 Econoline Pickup. it has U.S. NAVY lettered
on both doors and across the tailgate. I didn't get a title for it so I'm not really sure what year it is except it doesn't have a dual
master cylinder so I assume it's not a 67 model. It does have a 9" rearend and the big 6 cylinder though.
I would really like to know what the VIN number can tell me about the truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is
the number E10FHB55858.
I'm making a street rod out of this truck, and the original 6 has been replaced with a Chevy 454 and Turbo 400.
Thanks for your help.
Mickey

I have seen other posts on here where someone was able to decipher the VIN numbers. Maybe it
was too long ago. Just thought Id give it a shot.
Thanks

Usually someone will pop in with info.
I will do some digging and see if I have a book that might have something in it.

ok, this is out of a 1966 econoline manual, I have heard that some info from specific manauls could be wrong.
E10FHB55858

E10 = std pickup if body code 87A, dlx pickup if body code 87b
F = 170cid
H = Lorain assembly plant
855858 = build date april of 1966 assuming you miss read the 8 as a B

econoaddict is correct in his translation.

I popped your number into the database at EconolineID.com. If you have the other digits from the door tag, you can enter them there as well and find out a lot more about your truck.

Assuming that is your site....May I add it to ford-econoline.com resources page?

Yes, you may.

Right now I'm trying to find the data for the Canadian Econolines, which had a different data plate and different codes. Very elusive data!
